Pearl Powder has been used for thousands of years earning the reputation as an unsurpassed beauty ally. Legendary stories of great “beauties” throughout the Orient credit Pearl with keeping their youthful looks and glowing radiance well into old age. Traditionally Pearl was thought to help prevent the skin from becoming old looking, wrinkled and sagging. In modern day use, Pearl has been upgraded to superfood status with its rich array of minerals (such as calcium), amino acids, and unique nutrients such as mucopolysaccharides, and other components involved in DNA and RNA metabolic activities that help support cell renewal. In TCM (Traditional Chinese Medicine), Pearl is known to calm the Heart, stabilize the Shen, balance the disharmony of the Heart and Spirit, help clear the Liver, and used topically to promote healing of the flesh from ulceration – specifically in the gums and throat. Our Pearl powder is micro-ground using the process of ‘levigation’ (grinding when wet into a fine paste) which allows the pearl to be micro-ground to nano-proportions that allow for optimum bioavailability. We like to add Pearl powder to our oral health routine by sprinkling on our toothbrush with either a tooth powder or paste before gently brushing.
